Tekirova is about 60 kilometers from Antalya and just south of Kemer with unique mountain and sea views. Tekirova is a tourist resort which is spread over an area of 7 thousand hectares with a population of about 7,000 residents and rising to about 30,000 in the high season. Tekirova rests below Mt. Olympus - an extension of the Taurus Mountains - the mountain of the gods. The beach at Tekirova is about 6 kilometers long with a Blue Flag designation and has won an award by the European Environmental Education Foundation designating it as an award-winning coastline. Phaselis, Chimera and the ancient city of Olympos are closeby attractions as well as the fish restaurants in Ulupinar. One of the major attractions of Tekirova is its natural beauty; sea, mountains and pine forests combined in harmony. The shore from Beldibi to Tekirova consists of unspoiled beaches in bays of various sizes with mostly pebbly rather than smooth white sand beaches. Tekirova has a comfortable and peaceful holiday coast with internationally accepted reputation, attracting large numbers of visitors from European countries in recent years predominantly families from Russia. Many of these visitors come as part of low-cost all-inclusive package deals but regular tourism is still the mainstay of the local economy.
Tekirova being only 17 kilometers south of Kemer is very well known holiday resort destination with its orange groves and beautiful virgin bays facing the Three Islands. This district is an excellent diving spot with different virgin bays offering marvelous panoramas of Tahtali mountain. It is also closest district to the ancient site city of Phaselis.
