Sarigerme - Turkey Sarigerme
Sarigerme is the name of the beach in a village named Osmaniye but not the name of the area or the village. The Village of Osmaniye somehow got left out probably due to the fact that the all-inclusive German resort development along the beach named Sarigerme was primarily interested in bringing attention to their all-inclusive interests. The Village of Osmaniye is about 850 meters from the beach, a 15 minute walk from the Holiday Village and a 20 minute walk from the Hilton Golf Resort. Other Hotels such as Alinn and Caria Hotels do have regular shuttle services into the Village. For the last few years caterpillars have been on the move and working round the clock to build a Golf Course at Hilton Hotel with the first golf rounds taking place in 2012. Marti Hotels which is another 5 star hotel chain is on the move with Villa and other property construction are continuing there and there - popping up like mushrooms unfortunately. This small Village of Osmaniye comes alive during the summer months due to 8 major hotels attracting holiday visitors from Europe. The main street has boutiques, restaurants and bars but the main attraction has to be the very attractive sandy beach which hosts water sports, sunbeds and has a shady wooded picnic area, as well as a cafeteria. The Baba Island is located right off the coast from the beach. The sheltered side of the island that looks directly at Sarigerme is used to moor visiting boats and yachts. The other side of the island is rocky and most suitable for diving. If you are a good swimmer it is possible to swim to the island and later climb to the top for a bird's eye view of the surrounding scenery. The best source for reliable information about Osmaniye/Sarigerme is from Oguz Nayir at: www.sarigerme.net
